The last three people I’ve spoken to (apart from family or household members)

Clearly I made a wise decision to jump into the LBC pond this week rather than last week. This week's topic is the cold beer to last week's very hot, sunny day. Call it what you will - there's no god in this weeks post.  Well - unless of course one of the other members spoke to her.  Or him.  Or it. The LBC (Loose Bloggers Consortium) is a group of bloggers that write on the same subject each Friday and they are spread far and wide - India, Ireland, New Zealand, California and more.  A varied group with a myriad of opinions on most everything.

Bob called.  We made arrangements to meet Saturday at the 7th Street Movie Tavern for a 10:30 AM showing of Prometheus in 3D.  This will be my first exposure to the current 3D technology so I'm almost as interested in that aspect as I am the movie.  Those of you unfamiliar with the Movie Tavern can check it out here -- DFW 7th Street Movie Tavern - it's really an amazing place.

Reginald called yesterday.  I should say Reginald's butt called me.  As he was not there when I answered the phone, I called him back and he was rather sheepish about the non-call. I suggested he find another pocket in which to keep his phone.

Lastly I spoke to our landlord about needed repairs on the house we rent. As usual she was responsive and dispatched appropriate service.

Nary an interesting conversation amongst the lot.  These days those tend to be via email or blogs - more out of necessity than desire. Or maybe I'm just anti-social.  Who knows.

It's ALoha Friday as we used to say in Hawaii - here's a tune to get you started.  Or help you finish your day.  Enjoy.

So that's my first LBC entry.  I'm looking forward to the fun - I've been reading this gang of posters for over a year and sometimes commenting.  Please check out the others -

  1. Welcome on board the Good Ship LBC!

Sounds like we have plenty in common, I might have a couple of days without talking to anyone then the world and its mother all want me at the same time. Great first post. and I am listening to the music as I type.

    1. This house is overloaded with people and since I work from home my contact with outsiders is severely restricted unless done from a keyboard. One thing's for certain though - any day is a good day for a Kenny Rankin tune IMHO,

  2. A great start Chuck. And I am glad that you got on board.

From your post and Grannymar's post and comment here, and a little sentence in Paul's post on the same subject, I conclude that I live in a completely different environment. Whether I like it or not, I have a lot of people in my life and sometimes, it can be oppressive. I had a house guest from early yesterday morning till breakfast this morning and though a very nice person, I found that I just could not find the energy to talk to him. He was quite sensitive about it and left me alone and did his own thing, which too is par for the course in my home; people feel free to do what they want.

I guess that the last few days had been particularly tough for me with my care giving duties with a cantankerous old man at his worst.

    1. No Ramana - here there are my wife, daughter, son-in-law and 3 grandkids. But they were excluded. I can completely understand the care giving issues.

And ... I'm glad God wasn't the topic, too!

  4. Welcome--I have enjoyed reading your comments and nwo look forward to reading your blogs. Hail!!

"I should say Reginald's butt called me."...LOL as the cool ones say. My husband forgot his cell phone in Bangalore. It just came by courier. As it has no charge, we can't see who has been calling him...noit that he is bothered! If simebody wants to talk to him, they will willy nilly--that is his attitude!

  5. Welcome Shackman!
I've a friend called John who keeps butt-calling me, but whenever I call back for clarification I can only get John - his butt always seems to be busy.
